Mudgee Run 2007

For the past four years, members have made the trip to Mudgee for the June long weekend club run. This year there were 13 club rods and 3 rods owned by local hot rodders in attendance.

This year the heavy rain made the trip from Sydney a very wet one; however, everyone arrived safely and settled into the traditional bench session at the caravan park camp kitchen and devoured quite a number of delivered pizzas.

The rain cleared by Saturday morning and although the local markets were cancelled, everyone enjoyed browsing the local shops. In the afternoon, we drove to Gulgong where we took part in the local festival parade.

Saturday night we took over the camp kitchen at the caravan park and treated ourselves to lamb on a spit with real baked vegetables.

The sun was shining on Sunday and whilst some members took the opportunity to visit the local wineries and the newly completed Mudgee Brewery, a few went bush to look at some vintage tin.

Another first class meal on Sunday night was followed by a short presentation by the park management. They selected Gerry Borg's 1932 Coupe to receive the perpetual Park Choice trophy. A special thanks was given to members John and Sue Firth for organising the weekend.

Monday it was all over and everyone packed up and headed back home. Another great club weekend was over for another year.
